Childish Gambino’s chart-topper ‘This Is America’ is now at the center of a lawsuit.
For, a rapper is claiming the star copy and pasted elements of his track with attribution.
Full story below…
According to TMZ, a rapper named Kidd Wes has filed suit against Gambino alleging that the song plagiarizes his track ‘Made In America.’
Per Kidd, whose real name is Emelike Nwosuocha, his cut was released on Soundcloud in September 2016 and its video followed in November of the same year. He asserts that he made sure to register his effort with all necessary entities.
Gambino’s song was unleashed in May 2018, went viral, hit #1 on the Hot 100, and earned him both the Song of the Year and Record of the Year honors at the 2019 GRAMMYs.
The commercial performance of Kidd’s cut paled in comparison.
Now, citing “scientific similarities” to his song, he’s claiming Gambino’s jam borrows his “flow” and features a chorus that is “unmistakably substantially similar, if not practically identical” to his “Made in America.”
Gambino isn’t his only target, though.
Kidd is also suing the record label that released ‘This Is America,’ management, and surprisingly Young Thug too — despite the latter only providing background vocals.

Check out both songs and let us know if you hear any similarities. Because we’re not hearing a thing.

Borrows his flow? LOL!! Very few rappers today have their own unique flow.
The songs sound nothing alike.
No reason to sue. None of us will remember his music anyway.
