The uplifting ‘Pokemon’ anthem, boasting thematic similarities to Perry’s 12x Platinum 2010 hit ‘Firework,’ has exploded on global tallies just a day after its May 14 release.
The Monsters & Strangerz-produced cut is currently sitting at #1 on the real-time worldwide iTunes sales chart thanks to it commercial performance in America (previously peaking at #1) as well as topping similar tallies in over 12 other countries including Mexico, Poland, Argentina, Brazil, and more.
Though impressive, the sales of ‘Electric’ are only a portion of the punch it will need to land a big intro on the Hot 100. Once the combination of streaming and radio factors come into play, the song could boast a handsome premiere on the hitlist the week after its inaugural sales tracking period expires.
