After just a few weeks on air, ‘BET Presents The Encore’ has proven to be appointment television.
Indeed, the show – which sees familiar faces from 90s and 00s bands form a supergroup – is already serving up addictive drama in earnest.
Two of the names viewers have been showering with love are Shamari DeVoe (Blaque) and Nivea, the latter of whom is uniquely the only soloist in the mix.
Speaking with That Grape Juice‘s Shar Jossell, the singers spill about their motivations for taking part and spotlight 3LW’s Kiely Williams as having the “biggest ego.”

Love your content and coverage of this show! I was really hoping you guys would ask why Aubrey O’Day isn’t promoting the show and how come she is missing from performance clips and rehearsals during the trailers etc… I’m curious because I’m thinking she either left mid way or took over the creative director role. 😉
I rarely watch reality shows like this and Wednesday’s episode reminded me why. I’m extremely disappointed in Cherish. I used to really like their music, but every episode they consistently show some of the ugliest and most arrogant attitudes I’ve ever seen. I was hoping it was all scripted, but they are genuinely two grown women acting like high school bullies on this show. It’s very sad.
