According to the Daily Mail, the songbird and the entertainment juggernaut have ended their partnership after four years.
A source close to the situation refuted the initial suggestion that there was drama and said:
“Mariah’s relationship with Roc Nation ended amicably and Mariah and Jay-Z are on great terms”
It’s also said that Mimi is finalizing her new “R&B inspired album” and mapping out an accompanying world tour.
The Roc notably took on Mimi after her acrimonious split from Stella Bulochnikov in 2017.
In the time since many feel the partnership was crucial in rehabilitating the superstar’s brand. Indeed, within said window, she released her critically acclaimed ‘Caution’ album, embarked on several successful tours, nabbed her 19th #1 with ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You,’ and became a New York Times bestseller with her memoir. She also released the compilation effort ‘The Rarities’ and bagged a major deal with Apple TV+, which yielded a Christmas special.
Per The Sun, Carey has “been talking to other managers and thinks she has found someone who she feels has full belief in her as she takes her next steps.”

Suffice to say, the pairing of Carey and the Roc appeared to be a match made in heaven. At least from the outside looking in. And it goes without saying that it definitely yielded great results.
And while the public kumbaya is to be expected, one has to wonder what was the catalyst for the departure because it all seemed to be going so well.
It’ll be intriguing to see who next will carry the baton of steering Carey’s career. Over the years, she has been managed by the likes of Benny Medina, Irving Azoff, Jermaine Dupri, Kevin Liles, Stella Bulochnikov, and Red Light Management.
