New Song: H.E.R. – ‘My Own’

Published: Thursday 17th Jun 2021 by Rashad

Just hours after sharing the tracklist to her long-awaited debut album, ‘Back of My Mind’ (as we reported here), Academy and GRAMMY Award-winning songstress H.E.R. unveils yet another listen to tunes that line the project.

Titled ‘My Own,’ the song tells the tale of trying one’s hardest to resist the advances of Mr. Wrong.

“Baby, I can’t take no more from you / I don’t wanna play no more / Know we goin’ back and forth on me / I be all ready, on call / Even when I know it’s wrong from me / Somethin’, I don’t know, but it’s somethin’ / I don’t wanna work for somethin’ knowin’ it ain’t worth it,” she coos on the spacey track.

Ahead of its parent album’s June 18 debut, look inside to hear ‘My Own’:
