Good news for ‘Bad Habits’ hitmaker Ed Sheeran!
After a lengthy break following the gargantuan success of his third and fourth studio albums, 2017’s ‘Divide’ and 2019’s ‘No.6 Collaborations Project,’ Sheeran burst back onto the music scene with new single ‘Habits’ (released June 25).
Since its unveiling, the song has dominated real-time sales tallies and streaming alike – a combo that’s granted it a handsome debut on the Hot 100. Although initially predicted to be a contender for the tally’s summit (as we reported here), the premiere position of ‘Bad’ wasn’t bad at all.
See what we mean inside:
Seven years after earning his first top 10 hit on the Hot 100, ‘Don’t,’ Sheeran’s secured his 8th visit to the chart region with the #5 debut of new song ‘Bad Habits.’
Here are the numbers that powered the tune to its top 5 arrival:
- Streaming: 17.7 million streams
- Digital downloads: 33,200 sold
- Radio Airplay: 38.8 million audience impressions
Acting as the first single of his yet-titled, forthcoming fifth studio album, ‘Habits’ follows a slew of other Ed hits to impact the tally’s topmost dectet.
