Madonna is the latest name to lend support to Britney Spears‘ quest to end the conservatorship that has governed her personal and professional life since 2008.

As reported, Spears shocked the world when giving testimony during a court hearing last month. She went on record to describe the conservatorship as “abusive” and the cause of her deep unhappiness. She stressed that is “not here to be anyone’s slave” and had less than endorsing words about her father (who is one of her conservators).
Speaking about the predicament of her ‘Me Against The Music’ collaborator, the Queen of Pop said:
“Give this woman her life back. Slavery was abolished so long ago! Death to the greedy patriarchy that has been doing this to women for centuries. This is a violation of human rights! Britney we coming to Get you out of jail!”
Madge joins the likes of Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake, Mariah Carey, and Brandy on the list of notable names calling for Spears’ freedom.

@Marilyn. Madonna is the one who likened Britney’s situation to slavery after we just celebrated Juneteenth, not me. You act like I pulled it out of thin air when I’m merely responding to these exact words: “Give this woman her life back. Slavery was abolished so long ago!” All I’m saying is it’s insensitive to make that kind of comparison. Madonna gets ahead of herself sometimes trying to advocate for every race, culture and community.
