Usher has long been a trailblazer and the superstar continued alongside said trajectory by becoming one of the first major names to return to the stage after a year like no other.
The performer played to a sold-out capacity crowd at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace as he launched his long-awaited Las Vegas residency.
It goes without saying that the veteran is armed with an arsenal of hits and he wasn’t shy to show them off in seismic style during the super-slick show.
Indeed, Ush rocked out to classics such as ‘Yeah,’ ‘Nice & Slow,’ ‘U Make Me Wanna,’ ‘Climax,’ and ‘My Boo.’
He also dazzled with newer numbers such as Billboard Adult R&B #1 ‘Bad Habits’ and ‘I Don’t Mind.’

I remember an old interview Usher did where he was speaking of himself as if he was the next in line after Michael Jackson in regards to great male entertainers. And at that point I agreed but if this is what his current work and shows are looking like then Iâm gonna have to take my agreement to that back. These clips Iâve been seeing of his residency make the show look so bad from the hair to the costumes to the stagingâŚit all seems so done before for me. I was hoping that with such a place like Vegas, a place where I feel his brand is perfectly suited for, he was going to pull out all the stops and really deliver to us a s***, action packed show of never-before-seen content that was out of the box but still true to the Usher brand. His mom was an amazing piece to the puzzle that was his success early on. He might need to rethink the decision of letting her go and maybe get her back on board because this ainât itâŚ.like did I REALLY just witness him on roller skates while onstage?! Lol like what the hellâŚMichael Jackson would never.
This is what I was saying a while back with his iHeart Radio performance. He looks silly in some of the costumes and he needs to freshen things up. Like you said, “the next Michael” is a title that Usher gladly accepted. Michael was the best at reimagining his own material through every aspect there was – sound, costumes, visuals, dance, story telling, etc. I want to see Usher aspire to that next level. He has the potential to do so with the right team behind him to push beyond the normal routine.
People are so miserable. I was there opening night and his mom was there cheering him on and so proud. Did you expect him to fly? His show was fun non-stop. His discography is untouchable, not even Beyonce has that many hits in her setlist. But we know some miserable black folks are never satisfied unless they get free Popeye’s delivered with free tickets to somebody’s show. Let’s appreciate our legends while we have them; Michael never lived to see a Vegas residency so this is the closest we’ll ever get…
….And some people are so dumb and ignorant. Nothing i said about Usher was negative or deflecting of the legacy he has built for himself over the year. It was an honest fan/spectator speaking in regards to an honest situation, which is Usher’s lack of evolvement and waning creativity as an artist. Just because he is a legend, i am supposed to be ok with the mediocrity that he has been dishing out and expecting people to pay for lately? Where’s the benefit of advancement in that for him? All his recent events have been boring and to be expected at this point and for a Vegas residency, which can be a highlight for an artist’s career or a forgetful moment of their career, I would INDEED expect for him to fly. Thank you for reading my mind! If you are going to speak of yourself in the light of MJ, then you better have f*cking fire shooting out of those skates and doing it big like MJ! And lol hun, don’t kid yourself…Beyonces catalogue with DC alone could run circles around Usher’s whole discography! With ya greedy a** over there typing while hungry. Think about the finer things in life and take that pop-eyes breast out of your mouth sis! Im sure you and I both know that you know that life a lot better than the rest of us on here. It’s sad….but I guess some black folks will never expect or want much out of life, which is why a sad number of them are still on section 8 and selling food stamps to go to tired ass Usher concerts just to come home and steal their neighbors wifi to defend that tired ass show online thereafter. Girl bye if you think My Way and DJ Got Us Falling In Love and Good Kisser sound alike then I dare you to try and go to a Chris Brown concert! Alllllllll them songs is the same lol. Same with Beyonce everything is fake female empowerment (we all know she is Jay’s subservient concubine).

I went to the show and it wasn’t. Lazy ThatGrapeJuice decided to post the only 90 seconds Usher stood in place out of the entire 2 hour show. Poor n**** was dripping buckets of sweat dancing the whole night.
Usher DID THAT. I actually went to the show (unlike zero budget thatgrapejuice) and Usher was singing and dancing non-stop to all his undeniable hits. I didn’t think I would even like him doing Good Kisser but I did. The last act of the show (obviously all he had to do was perform “Yeah!” and the house tore up) was phenomenal. His joints didn’t have the arthritis I expected them too lol. He honestly all we’ve got in Vegas cause I can’t sit through no damn Chris Brown setlist of 30 songs that sound alike or Beyonce trying to make b-sides like “Freakum Dress” worth my attention. My Way, You Make Me Wanna, Nice and Slow, U Remind Me, U Got It Bad, U Don’t Have to Call, Yeah, Burn, Confessions Part 1, Part 2, My Boo, Lil Freak, OMG, even I Don’t Mind….nobody has a setlist with that many BOPs at their show. I don’t wanna hear Rihanna sing for 2 hours nor lipsync and I don’t EVER wanna listen to Beyonce do anything other than Destiny’s Child, Crazy In Love, and Single Ladies. Ladies get that WAP and bring it to Vegas to see the King while we still have him.
