Britney Spears has encountered a setback in her efforts to expedite her father’s ousting from her controversial conservatorship.

The singer’s new lawyer Mathew Rosengart filed a motion to push up a September 29 hearing to sooner as it would be in Spears’ best interest.
Stressing that “everyday matters,” Rosengart sought to have Spears’ dad Jamie Spears suspended as conservator of her estate. Late August was touted as the desired new frame.
This morning, however, judge Brenda Penny of the Los Angeles Superior Court ordered that Rosengart’s petition has been denied without prejudice.
As it stands, the original September 29 date stands.
