Here at That Grape Juice, we love all things R&B! So, fittingly, we’ve teamed up with DJ Ace – one of the UK’s most revered R&B connoisseurs and host of BBC 1Xtra‘s weekly series Everything RNB (which airs Sundays at 10pm).

It’s your boy Ace, and I’m back to put you onto some of the hottest new R&B right now, with my #SPOTLIGHT3. My picks this week consist of two acts from across the waters, and of course, we gotta make sure we salute our own, with one amazing homegrown singer.

BLK – Girls

BLK (pronounced B.L.K) is a dope trio from Canada. I’ve been spinning their track ‘FWM’ on 1Xtra’s R&B Show for the past few weeks. ‘Girls’ is the new number taken from their E.P ‘Girl Magic,’ that dropped this week. Look out for an #RNB1take from them on my show real soon.

Stalk Ashley – Summer 16

‘Summer 16’ is the latest offering from Jamaican singer Stalk Ashley. You may already be familiar with her, as she’s been making moves in the scene for a while now.

Ashley has collaborated with the likes of Wstrn, and accompanied Stormzy for his BBC Radio 1Xtra Live Lounge a few years back.

Mnelia – My Bad

Mnelia took it to the islands for her latest single ‘My Bad’, shooting the visuals in Antigua and Barbuda. Her previous singles ‘Say Yeah’ and ‘Senseless’ were in heavy rotation on my show, and ‘My Bad’ will be no different. I’m looking forward to an album or an E.P from her in the near future.
