Drake‘s dominance has never been in doubt, but the rapper has officially elevated to even higher heights of success with his sixth studio album ‘Certified Lover Boy.’
For, just a day after the LP bulldozed records to debut with the highest first week sales of the year, he’s staged an epic takeover of the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 – including launching at #1 with ‘Way 2 Sexy.’
Full story below…
In a huge feat, Drizzy occupies NINE spots on the top 10.
Even more remarkable is the fact that he becomes the first artist ever to claim as many spots in the top 10 in a single frame in the chart’s 63-year-history.
The Canadian MC has snached the entire top five, a feat previously achieved only by The Beatles for one week in 1964.
Notably all of his placements are debuts.
The Future and Young Thug assisted ‘Sexy,’ which benefitted from a Dave Meyers directed video, leads the charge.
It’s become Drizzy’s fifth song to debut at #1 and his ninth #1 overall. The song becomes Future’s first #1 and Young Thug’s third.
Here’s how the figures break down for each of the top 10 chartings:
No. 1, “Way 2 Sexy,” feat. Future & Young Thug (67.3 million streams, 7.7 million in airplay audience, 7,000 sold)
No. 2, “Girls Want Girls,” feat. Lil Baby (57.4 million streams, 1.5 million in airplay audience, 3,000 sold)
No. 3, “Fair Trade,” feat. Travis Scott (53.8 million streams, 2.4 million in airplay audience, 5,800 sold)
No. 4, “Champagne Poetry” (48.3 million streams, 297,000 in airplay audience, 1,900 sold)
No. 5, “Knife Talk,” feat. 21 Savage & Project Pat (45.9 million streams, 141,000 in airplay audience, 3,300 sold)

Ye crying? For what? That’s like Mr. Miyagi crying over The Karate Kid 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Drake is soo overrated
@Dc – Yup!
Drake McCartney topped The Beatles record, yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaas 😂 🤳🏽 And Abel Checkers has the longest running (and arguably the biggest..we’re gonna need Billboard to tally that) Hot 100 song EVER, yaaaaaaaaaaaaass 😂🤳🏽 When Drake and Abel were making Take Care, I wonder if they talked about really taking over the charts 🤔 The Twist, Blinding Lights and Old Town Road create a real conversation about the biggest pop song America has EVER heard…three black artists did that, not Elvis lol 🤳🏽 I’m here to remind my black brothas and sistas that when it comes to music, we got it lmaooooooooo 👊🏽 Michael Jackson let everybody know ALL of that lol 💋 Shout out to all the flavorful white songwriters and producers who helped to craft everything I talked about..they certainly helped with the VISION lol ✅ Keep yo Grammys, keep yo narrative, keep yo delusions 🤣 Black artists are essential to not only American music, but world music..it’s our styles that truly keep it moving..ask, well, The Beatles *SMACKS* 😂 👀 💯
This is insane…proves the billboard weighting on streaming is really skewing chart achievements now. The fact that it was rare for album songs and deep cuts to chart multiple songs in release week to now major artists debuting 20+ songs on the chart proves its incomparable to the charts pre-2017. They should count it as a new era of charting and stop saying these new artists are breaking beatles, aretha, mariah, whiteney etc. Records because in truth its just not the same. The fact that ariana grande and taylor swift are overtaking aretha’s charting billboard hits/numbers of entries proves its now simply easier for major artists to chart. I dunno, just seems strange and not natural for an artist to be taking up the top 10 with songs literally no one will remember in 1-2 years. DRAKES LAST #1 is FORGOTTEN and so will this one – NEXT
I’m sorry, but The Beatles had full advantage over the Billboard charts in those earlier days…their dominance was because they had the necessary things in place that went perfect with the calculating formula at the time and the right music…period…and fair is fair…Drake came before streaming, don’t forget! Even Billboard published an article on April 4, 1964 and the first line read, “Everyone’s tired of The Beatles, except the listening and buying public.” 🤣 They published this article the same week they made history with occupying the Top 5 slots lol…go back and learn the truth 💯 The only reason we hold on to the past records is BECAUSE of Billboard publishing them constantly till it was ingrained in our heads and even they weren’t so kind to The Fab 5 THAT week 😂 I’ve never been a fan of The Beatles, honestly 🤣 Read Michael’s letter about The Beatles and Elvis lmaooooooooo 👀
And I called them The Fab 5, my bad lmaooooooooo 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Like I said, I’m not a fan lol #Fab4
I just don’t believe his numbers. I know that he has a nice WHITE fan base but I don’t believe his numbers.
Drake has the best rap album this year. 💯 Let me be clear… 😂
#Focused
I never knew thug had more hits than future wtf lol
