Christina Aguilera Tributes Tina Turner with ‘River Deep Mountain High’ at Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

Published: Sunday 31st Oct 2021 by Sam

Tina Turner was one of several notable names inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame‘s Class of 2021 last night. And Christina Aguilera was one of the stars on-hand to salute the bonafide legend.

The honor served as Turner’s second induction – and first as a soloist – after initially being inducted as part of a duo with her controversial ex-husband, Ike Turner, in 1991.

Backed by a full band, Xtina belted out a rousing rendition of ‘River Deep Mountain High.’ During the performance, she drew on Turner’s trademark ferocity and fused it with her own vocal dexterity.

Watch the dynamite showing after the jump…

Powerful performance!

  3. Lisa October 31, 2021

She leaves it all on the stage. Bevy Smith was stanning!

Yes. She still can outsing every new singer today. But it’s really sad how her range is totally gone. She’s stuck in the middle key and just keeps going up and down in the same 3-5 notes of that pitch/octave. Clearly the mid to low range. But she can’t go up anymore it’s really shocking to see her try but it all sounds like the same note

Xtina has more talent in her front tooth then Lana Del Yuck in her whole body 💀💀💀💀

Both Xtina and Yonce lost their vocal range due to age and having kids.

2 C-sections for Aguilera means loss of upper range ease and vocal darkening. Same with Mariah and Céline. Tamar & KeKe Wyatt retained strong tops because natural birth.

    She did that.

I remember Tina Turner saying she really enjoyed Christina years ago.

Damn, Christina did her thing here.

Albeit flat at first, she executed a stunning head voice diminuendo! Too bad she had SCHEDULED (because and I quote “I don’t believe in that [natural birth] kinda pain”) C-sections strangled her upper belts.
