That Grape Juice Essentials: Top 5 Underrated P!nk Songs

Published: Wednesday 10th Nov 2021 by Ryan

With a career as long and as prosperous as P!nk‘s, there are bound to be moments when certain songs fly under the radar.

While we are not here to dissect the here-and-now,  instead, we are here to celebrate the what-ifs, the moments that remain in the hearts and minds of many despite not having their shining moment.

Join us below as we countdown That Grape Juice’s Top 5: Underrated P!nk Songs…

5. Leave Me Alone (I’m Lonely)

There are moments that make you scratch your head and wonder what were they thinking, and this is one such moment. Not serviced as a single in the United States, we  missed out on what could have been had this been a single. With an abundance of playful lyrics and the hardcore pop-rock sound P!nk has become known for, this could have been its own moment. A true gem that missed out on its time to shine, it’s time this track gets some light shed on its beauty.

4. I Don’t Believe You

P!nk’s ‘Funhouse’ album remains in contention for her best album, and ‘I Don’t Believe You’ is a prime example as to why. A slow-burning soul ballad, the sparse production gives P!nk’s voice space to shine brighter than it has before. While ‘Who Knew’ may remain as her most heartbreaking tune, ‘I Don’t Believe You’ surely gives it a run for its money.

3. It’s All Your Fault

Another ‘Funhouse’ tune, this time around P!nk gets tongue-and-cheek with her love interest. Built around a rollicking piano progression, palpating drums, and fizzy guitars, the production builds in the verses until it absolutely explodes in the chorus releasing pure serotonin. We have had this song stuck in our head for years and we have to say, P!nk, it’s all your fault. But we certainly do not mind.

2. Can We Pretend

There is always a soft spot in our hearts for when an artist recalls their earlier works in a tune. In P!nk’s case, that occurs on ‘Can We Pretend’ from her ‘Hurts 2 B Human’ album. Across the tune, P!nk fuses some of her most vulnerable and nostalgic lyrics with a modern EDM-based production to create the perfect blend of old and new. Once more, P!nk proves that she should not be counted out as she delivered one of her best songs in recent years with this perfectly reminiscent tune.

1. The Great Escape

While P!nk’s ‘Truth About Love’ album is full of some big hits and even bigger misses, there is one song that stands as some of her best work: ‘The Great Escape.’ A sweeping piano ballad, P!nk offers up her best vocal performance to date. However, it is the emotionally-charged lyrics that really bring the song home – e.g. “the passion and the pain / Are gonna keep you alive someday.” Nevertheless, few artists have been able to craft something so tear-jerking.  Easily one of the best song’s of the last decade, P!nk showcases her raw talent at its peak, a peak that is unmatched.

Where « Glitter In The Air » ? The performance at the Grammys is iconic, a big «  F*ck You » at America who was writting her off.
She showed them how your bring the house down in every possible way.

She was doing that and way more almost every night during the Funhouse tour, she’s such an underrated performer.

She is a true, genuine performer. Some artists I’ve seen like Carrie Underwood are stiff and way overrehearsed, but Pink is very candid with the audience and isn’t afraid of the interaction. I saw her last two tours and every moment was great. I hope she says yes if she’s offered the Super Bowl again.

I hope she will accept the gig as well.
