Watch: Kelly Rowland Talks Solo Christmas Album, New Children’s Book, & More

Published: Friday 26th Nov 2021 by Rashad

Kelly Rowland is quite the busy bee.

The GRAMMY-winning diva – hot on the promo trail for the November 27 premiere of her new Lifetime movie ‘Merry Liddle Christmas Baby’ – had already turned heads with new music from the movie and a stop by ‘The Nick Cannon Show’ before hopping over to ‘New York Live’ to discuss the film and a few other hot topics.

While at the latter, Rowland was quizzed about her next set of projects – which include new solo music, a children’s book, and maybe even a Christmas album.

Hop inside to see what she said about these ventures earlier this week.

ROWLAND ON IF LIFETIME WILL PRODUCE ANOTHER ‘MERRY LIDDLE CHRISTMAS’ IN 2022:

“We’ll see what happens. I want everybody to tune in (to the third ‘Merry Liddle Christmas’ installment on November 27); my goal is to continue to have people enjoy these stories.”

ROWLAND ON A ‘KELLY CHRISTMAS’ ALBUM:

‘I do want to a Christmas album…eventually. I’m focused on something else right now I’m really excited about. But, I will say [recording ‘A Wonderful Time’] was so much fun.’

ROWLAND ON NEW CHILDREN’S BOOK ‘ALWAYS WITH YOU, ALWAYS WITH ME’:

“The author, Jessica McKay, and I met [because] our sons are friends at school.  She started talking about all these different things that she’s doing and I’m like ‘we have to do this together’ and we did.  We actually just sat there and had conversations…and now we’re publishing [a book] for people.”

Published by Viking Books for Young Readers, an imprint of Penguin Young Readers, Rowland’s children picture book – ‘Always With You’ – is slated to be released on April 26, 2022.

Her second published book, Kelly previous hit book shelves with 2017’s ‘Whoa, Baby!: A Guide for New Moms Who Feel Overwhelmed and Freaked Out.’

    I really liked her EP.
Flowers and Speed of Love are amazing.
Hit man goes hard, Crazy at first I was like ok… but when you listen to it with a good volume and good bass, it bangs.
=> Now please give us a full album in those lanes.

I like Black Magic sonically speaking and for its message but I don’t like « lazy » vocal deliveries because it doesn’t elevate the track.

Better is ok… a bit of a filler to me, especially when you consider it’s only 6 songs.

I’ve met her several times, and not just hello goodbye, like actually have conversations for a good period of time.
She’s extremely sweet, down to earth, she’s not like « oh I’m a star I’m untouchable we’re not from the same world ». She remembers people’s names even years later. She’s got a beautiful soul. I love her.

I am sorry but she’s fake and phony. I know her too. Lol her stanky attitude!

She didn’t seem fake to me.
Then yes meeting 7-10 times and talking 30 minutes doesn’t mean you know the person.
But she’s always been extremely approachable and friendly.
It never felt forced or like she was putting an act on.
The first time I met her, her manager was like I’m staying around. She was like go away, leave us alone, she ordered food, I was feeling so shy.
But we had a good time we talked for an hour. She then had a private gig and invited me with 4 friends.
Since that encounter we kept meeting up throughout the years.
She also invited me backstage with her at an award show. How many celeb do that seriously ? She’s amazing.
