The American Music Awards 2021 were held Sunday night (November 21) live at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles and – per usual – the ceremony had many-a-highlight thanks to jaw-dropping performances from the likes of Jennifer Lopez, BTS, Chloe Bailey, Silk Sonic, and many more (as we reported here).
Yet, even with the spectacle each of the aforementioned acts provided, the biggest star of the Cardi B-hosted show remained the awards themselves.

I’m not surprised by the winners list. This is a FAN VOTED award show. The AMA’s in the past weren’t fan voted. The winners list back then was more genuine. This award show specifically has become a big popularity contest. The Grammy nominations will be revealed on 11/23 and guess what it’s not a fan voted award show. Just wait some of these probably won’t even make it on the Grammy list on Grammy night.
Since the f*** when was Doja Cat an R&B artist? I know clearly she sings on some of her records but how the f*** ya gonna label her that when she mainly a Raptress. Jazz or H.E.R. could’ve gotten that award honestly. Lord I’m not gonna start with Taylor…Dua and Ariana should’ve gotten an award. Megan’s album was not good at all. This whole popularity contest is so absurd too like the fans be making their faves look more than they actually are if were being honest without bias. Awards should be recognition on true artistry, impact, songwriting etc not
