Having performed many tributes to the Prince of Soul Marvin Gaye over her career, GRAMMY & Academy Award-winning singer H.E.R. hasn’t made a secret for her admiration of the Motown legend.
As this year brought with it the 50th anniversary of his game-changing 1971 studio effort, ‘What’s Goin On,’ the good folks at the People’s Choice Awards thought there would be no better time than to honor its greatness than at this year’s ceremony.
Tapping H.E.R. to do the honors at this year’s telecast (which aired simultaneously on NBC and E! on December 7), look inside to hear her stunning rendition of one of Gaye’s biggest hits – the title track to his ‘What’s Goin’ On’ album.
The showing comes just days after the songstress (born Gabriella Wilson) tackled a slew of Gaye classics for SiriusXM’s ‘Small Stage Series.’

Marvin’s masterpiece album wasn’t even nominated for Album Of The Year at the SCAMMYS lol….the title track wasn’t nominated at ALL either! 🤬 Mercy Mercy Me wasn’t nominated either! 🤬 Inner City Blues was only nominated for Best Male R&B Performance and didn’t win…Marvin has 0 Grammy awards for the What’s Going On era…I’m DONE…don’t even make no DAMN sense lol…I’m not going to mention what actually won that year cause I actually like the heffa lol…but it ain’t What’s Going On! 👀 Adele’s 30 is the latest album inspired by What’s Going On and now SHEERA is up there performing it with HER overrated self at the People’s Choice…if the SCAMMYS does a Marvin tribute this year after snubbing him…makes me wanna HOLLER 🤣☕️🫖

Like someone said…Marvin Gaye did not win a Grammy for his best work BUT I’m sure he’s won an award for singing “Let’s Get It On”.
And Summer Walker is currently the best selling female R&B artist. All of this volume. People are starting to see The Grammy’s is very sinister. Truths always come out in the end tho…
