Ashanti took center stage at the AFC Championship Game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Cincinnati Bengals – and was ready prepped to perform the US National Anthem.
Unfortunately, her mic was not.
From the onset, her rendition of ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ was plagued with sound issues and saw the capacity crowd have to chip in to quench the palpable silence.

I must say, as I have learned from my high school Band Director Mr. Roland F. Rose, ” If you guys make a mistake don’t stop keep going even through the mistakes. Because ultimately the mistakes sounds better than what was originally supposed to be played at times. So keep going no matter what mistakes and all.” That was good advice because whenever we went back to review the playback footage the next school day after our concerts we knew how to better prepare for the worse in our next concert. So Ashanti knows to bring her own mic next time that’s all. You go GURRLLLL!!!! It still sounded good. And the crowd was so nice.
