What may have started off as a proud dad moment for Benzino backfired after the rapper-producer announced an unconfirmed secret about his daughter Coi Leray‘s new album.
As heard in the video above, Benzino (born Raymond Scott) took to Clubhouse recently to announce Leray’s debut album, set to drop next month, will feature an appearance from Rap Queen Nicki Minaj.
Sending the latter’s fans (affectionately called #Barbz) into a frenzy as a result, the hoopla eventually made it to the desk of Coi who – in turn – scolded her dad for letting the cat out of the bag prematurely.

Taking to social media (as seen in the clip above captured by our friends at TSR), Leray cleared the air.
“He’s going to go hard for me every single time. He not going to let nobody talk crazy about me or nothing. I guess it was a situation where people was yapping their mouth on the Clubhouse and he felt like he had to defend himself.”
After Coi’s comments, Benzino quickly issued an apology to Minaj, his daughter, and their fans.
