‘You Don’t Know’ singer Kierra Kiki Sheard believes you don’t know the full context of the quote that’s landed her in headlines over the last few days – a situation she’s hoping to remedy by taking to Instagram to issue a statement.
The Gospel star, hot on the promo trail in support of her forthcoming Lifetime film ‘Line Sisters’ (premiering February 12), took to press to indicate she isn’t shy about placing boundaries in her home related to her husband, Jordan Kelly.
“My momma has already told me don’t have too many people around your house … I don’t care how good you trust them or whatever it is, I’m very mindful and careful. I would buy a friend a hotel room before I let them stay at my house,” she said before adding, “Am I supposed to let them into my home? Because we as believers, we believe that what we have we are supposed to share with others, but I’m not sharing my man. Since I’m not sharing my man, I have to be cautious with everything else that I share as far as with him being there too.”
As outlets flooded the net with reports and op-eds on the quote, social media users also weighed in – with many of them siding opposite the award-winning songstress.
Tired of the hoopla, Kierra took to Instagram Saturday (February 5) to hit back at detractors who felt her original statement was a display of insecurity.

In addition to uploading footage from the interview where the polarizing quote was first captured, Kiki captioned her weekend IG post by saying:
“Besides the whole conversation that we had prior, that wasn’t considered for full context…Nowadays healthy boundaries seem like insecurity and distrust to some. However, for those who’d like the truth, here’s the full video for so many who are reaching and making juicy headlines for clout. I’m blessed to have a husband and friends who I trust. My family and friends are most welcome in my home and THEY know who they are. I will remain prayerful and strategic in everything that I do, and so should you. Be encouraged to discern well because common sense ain’t so “common” these days. So, protect your homes, husbands, children, careers and more. You’ll avoid a lot of mistakes and trauma. Since we are in a cancel culture some haven’t mastered diplomacy, it’s considered phony or fake. So, some are considered “associates” than they are “friends” but until we grow in relational intelligence, we won’t understand fundamentals like this. #LearnWithMe Good morning! #SafePlaces #SafePeople #wisdom #BookComingSoon #TheVibesYouFeel #KierraSheard“
I support everything she said! Period!
Who is this person.
This is something tasha k will report about.
TGJ, yall are becoming a bit ghetto for my liking
Yet you’re on here everyday commenting and crying about Normani. You must be the most ghetto project baby there is then. 🤣 oh, and btw Kierra Sheard is a Grammy award winning gospel artist, the daughter of gospel royalty – Karen Clark Sheard of the LEGENDARY Clark Sisters. You better do your research sweetie.
Unfortunately in 2010 Kierra did not win the Grammy for Best Gospel Song ( a songwriters award) Mary Mary ( Erica and Tina were the winners along with Warryn Campbell (Erica’s husband). Kierra is Grammy nominated not a Grammy winner yet. Same with JoJo everyone kept saying she won a Grammy for Best R&B Song with Pj Morton but she didn’t because she’s not credited as songwriter on the song. It’s a songwriters award. Therefore only the songwriter will get the award.
She don’t trust her husband or her friends 🤷 KeKe Wyatt said this same thing
He probably wants her guy friends anyway.
She wide as s*** and that outfit makes her look wider 💀
I sleep with a married guy and we do it at my crib, and he’s offered for us to do it at his crib. I don’t know his wife from a can of paint lol.
If yo man gone cheat, he will
The Bible says “He that finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains the favor of the Lord ” If your husband found you and it was ordained by God, he knows if he is to have God’s favor he has to do right. You are worried about your friends but if you trust your husband and he you and stay close to him, if temptation comes, you will get closer and pray together. The devil hates marriage. If a man is weak and wants to cheat he doesn’t have to choose people close to you or do it at home. I will pray for peace for you. You have a beautiful gift and the devil just wants to distract you. I have been Blessed to know my husband 46 yrs and married 34, we live our life for God through good and bad times. Blessed with 5 children and 8 grandchildren. To God be the glory!
