Ratings: Dr. Dre, Mary J. Blige, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, & Snoop Dogg Help Super Bowl LVI Draw 112 Million

Published: Tuesday 15th Feb 2022 by Rashad

The powers of Dr. Dre, Mary J. Blige, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and Kendrick Lamar combined to deliver one of the Super Bowl’s most talked about halftime shows ever Sunday (February 13).

And if their brigade of hits flying to the top of real-time sales tallies wasn’t enough indication of how well their showing was received, a gander at early ratings tally should do the trick.

Look inside to see the numbers.

The jam-packed, Hip Hop-heavy halftime show – alongside the Rams vs. Bengals game during which it occurred – raked in a whopping 112.3 million viewers Sunday night.

Report:

“Super Bowl LVI averaged 112.3 million viewers across TV and streaming, according to NBC. That number was up from last year’s Super Bowl, which averaged roughly 96.4 million viewers across CBS and streaming.
It’s a fitting end to a season of viewership resurgence, with ratings for the regular season up roughly 10% overall from last year at 17.1 million viewers per game on average.”

Co-starring special guests Anderson. Paak and 50 Cent, the Pepsi-sponsored spectacle was hailed by many viewers – celebrities and critics alike – as one of the most memorable musical showings on the platform to date.

Per Nielsen, the early viewership figures above only represent real-time views and do not account for all the ways the broadcast was consumed (i.e. live TV on streaming platforms, DVR, etc.).

Keep it locked to That Grape Juice for reports on the final viewership figures that drop later this week.

The high viewers had nothing to do with these performers.
It had everything to do with the teams competing

It’s called a Remote Control… Super Bowl Viewers do NOT have to watch the Half Time Show. And vice versa for The Actual Game.
