According to Variety, reps for West confirm that he has been removed from the line-up of performers due to his “concerning online behavior” of late. The call is said to have been made to Ye’s team yesterday (March 18).
The MC is nominated across a range of categories at the ceremony, including both Album of the Year and Best Rap Album for ‘Donda’ and Best Rap Song and Best Melodic Rap Performance for ‘Jail’ and ‘Hurricane’ respectively.
A firm fixture in the headlines, the “behavior” at the root of his removal won’t come as a surprise to most.
West has made it daily routine to hit out at ex-wife Kim Kardashian on social media and has expanded the scope of his volcanic rants to include her new boyfriend, comedian Pete Davidson. The rapper even depicted the decapitating and burying of the comic in a music video.
Those slamming his antics have also been on the receiving end of his chaotic conduct, including D.L. Hughley and Trevor Noah…the latter of whom is the host of the GRAMMYs.
