DaBaby is hot on the promotional trail for his new joint album with NBA Youngboy, ‘Better Than You.’
However, with the release serving as his first major offering since last summer’s Rolling Loud controversy, it was always a given that the MC would be quizzed about the chaos while doing the press rounds.
Such was the case on The Breakfast Club today, where the star was asked about his response to the comments he made on stage and the fallout that followed.
His words, which may surprise some, await after the jump…
As a refresher, DaBaby shocked stunned onlookers when he uttered the following at the July 2021 festival in Miami:
“If you didn’t show up today with HIV, AIDS, or any of them deadly sexually transmitted diseases, then put your cellphone lighter up.
Ladies, if your p***y smell like water, put your cellphone lighter up.
Fellas, if you ain’t sucking d**k in the parking lot, put your cellphone lighter up.”
The backlash saw him receive critique from his contemporaries and corporations – many of whom have dropped him from collaborations.
Revisiting the drama with Charlamagne Tha God, Angela Yee, and DJ Envy, DaBaby said:
“I didn’t mean what you think I meant. What you want me to do? Go look myself in the mirror and say [to myself] ‘you did mean that. You don’t like gay people.’ No. I’m not tripping on gay people. I’m not tripping at all.”

A messy missing of the entire point.
The fact that months removed DaBaby is still rationalizing the matter as people “misconstruing” or there being some kind of witchhunt is equal parts ridiculous as it is sad.
Ultimately, the gripe isn’t so much about whether he meant what he said but more so about the hurt his comments caused a number of groups.
Apologizing in a very “whatever” manner, expecting the world en masse to receive it, and then being frustrated when they don’t is clearly his issue.
Check out the full interview, in which DaBaby talked DaniLeigh and more, below:
stop. reporting. stories. about. this. loser.
this. until he comes with a real apology, stop giving him a platform
Paula, you can go and suck on your mommas t!tys
And you can choke on DaBasic’s unwashed **** 💋
Thought he said he couldn’t b cancelled
He doesn’t know the difference from the part when he says graphic to where hes actually being offensive Then he goes on to say it upset his bank account wtf He still doesn’t understand or get it..Somebody on his team help him get a clue before he does an interview before he becomes if its possible a bigger d*****….smh
Actually abort any adult with “baby” or “Lil” in their names…
Its sad because he IS 100% homophobic and wont admit it. He’s blind to the fact that MOST heterosexuals are also homophobic and thus AGREE with him and thus he can say WHATEVER he wants about homosexuality and still NOT be cancelled.
Unfortunately he’s too Pxssy to say it and mean it.
Da Baby told no lies, most of you people are sensitive.
No thanks, don’t need to hear anything this guy has to say – stop giving him chances
