Dionne Warwick Slams Whitney Houston Hologram Again: ‘Leave Her Alone…You Can’t Recreate Whitney’

Published: Tuesday 15th Mar 2022 by Rashad

The Whitney Houston estate has big plans they have for the diva’s likeness over the coming year, including multiple new albums, a big screen biopic, biographical Broadway musical, and a reboot of the temporarily shelved hologram tour.

And despite the mixed reception of the latter, there’s one person who’s made clear on what end of the criticism she stands:  Houston’s legendary cousin Dionne Warwick.

On multiple occasions Warwick has taken to press to slam the venture, even calling it ‘stupid’ and ‘a waste of time’ (as we reported here).

Recently, she reiterated the point during a visit to Bravo’s ‘Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.’  Hop inside to hear her latest message to the Houston estate.

On hand to dish about her forthcoming Vegas residency at the Stirling Club, the 81-year-old waxed honest about her thoughts on the return of Whitney’s hologram to Sin City.

“I am not a fan of the fact that they decided to do that. That doesn’t please me at all” she starts at the video’s 1:33 mark before later adding, “They need to let Whitney rest. Leave her alone.”

When quizzed on if this could be a unique way to keep Houston’s legacy alive for the generations who never got to see her live, Warwick disagreed.

“You can never recreate Whitney…ever,” she said. “If you want to see her she’s done enough television, she has a couple of movies out you can go see if you must look at her face, and you have a lot of music you can listen to.”

I agree, let the dead rest in peace… this is so disrespectful to her, enough. These people have no limit, money-money-money but this is tragic, shame on anyone participating.

    • What would Whitney do March 15, 2022

Did Elvis ppl say that. You only saying that cause Whitney is a black artist. They was touring Elvis with look a likes years after his death

I’m not into Elvis music at all so why would i be concerned? You don’t know nothing about me so don’t even try to tell me why I say this or that.

Per variety magazine. Reports Whitney estate has quadrupled after her death. Quadrupled. Stop hating on her legacy. Because she is a black female. Let her enjoy life after death. Can’t wait for the new music too.

Hating on her legacy because she is black? What are you taking about? You are weird.

Yeah if it were tupac, biggie Elvis nobody would mind their image being recreated

Put Lisa Marie Presley up her dad died in bathroom just like Whitney. What did she think seeing her fathers image recreated by several Elvis impersonators

The true definition of a leech. Vampire.

Ridiculous. You know these celebrities wouldn’t have wanted to be made into f****** holograms. As religious as Whitney was. She would have had a fit.

It’s demonic, and I only say that cause Prince said that before he died. Now stop being weird for attention.

We have really reached the technological point in society where stars need to put their wished into their Wills, and might be nice to have laws so relatives can’t overturn whatever they decide. That said, with just a few more advances in Holo technology, I’m all for it IF the person was OK with it, and IF it is done correctly!!! I’d much rather go see a legit Elvis concert than autotuned junk.

And via restored, high quality video, Elvis has played to many who weren’t alive to see him even now. And there are no Queen shows without a few HD performances from the Legend Freddie Mercury. Decades after his death and he still holds stadium crowds in the palm of his hands!
