After 13 Years & 15 Nominations, Jazmine Sullivan Secures Her First GRAMMY Wins

Published: Sunday 3rd Apr 2022 by Rashad

‘Pick Up Your Feelings’ performer Jazmine Sullivan picked up her first GRAMMY Sunday (April 3), and adds yet another accolade to what’s become her most successful era to date.

Sullivan, up for Best R&B Song, Best R&B Album, and Best R&B Performance, nabbed one of the honors before the show even began.

Collecting the Best R&B Performance trophy at the GRAMMY pre-show, Sullivan tied with Silk Sonic but beat out ‘Damage’ (H.E.R.), ‘Lost You’ (Snoh Aalegra), and ‘Peaches’ (Justin Bieber) in the category.  Later that night, she also snagged Best R&B Album honors.

See the acceptance speech below:

For the diva’s dedicated fans, the win comes as long overdue restitution as the ‘Heaux Tales’ hitmaker hasn’t exactly had a fairytale history with the biggest night in music.

In 2009, despite entering that year’s GRAMMYs as one of the most nominated acts, the R&B diva saw her debut album, ‘Fearless,’ and its content completely shut out.
