Billboard 200: Tyler, the Creator’s ‘Call Me If You Get Lost’ Makes Historic Return To #1

Tyler, the Creator has a reason to celebrate.

For, his album ‘Call Me If You Get Lost’ has now made a historic return to #1 on the Billboard 200 chart.

More details below…

According to Billboard, ‘Call Me’ earned 59,000 equivalent album units in the tracking week ending April 21. However, the majority of the sales were bolstered by a vinyl release. As a result, 51,000 units came from physical sales alone.

In total, the album sold 49,500 vinyl albums during the tracking period. In doing so, it now claims the largest vinyl sales week for a hip-hop album and for a solo male album since tracking began in 1991.

Moreover, ‘Call Me’ bounds 120-1 on the Billboard 200 chart and earns the biggest jump back to #1 since Taylor Swift’s ‘Fearless (Taylor’s Version)’ vaulted 157-1 in October of last year. Additionally, ‘Call Me’ scores the seventh biggest jump to #1. The Notorious B.I.G. still holds the record when his ‘Life After Death’ album bounded 176-1 on the chart dated April 12, 1997.

‘Call Me’ was released last year and housed the hits ‘Lumberjack’ and ‘WusYaName.’

This means its time to ditch this streaming mess and go back to traditional sales. If people really like your work, they’ll go out and buy it. Any idiot with 10 devices can stream a song or album on repeat all day. That will never beat buying an actual physical album.
