‘Up’ hitmaker Cardi B found herself up atop headlines early Monday morning (April 4) for engaging in a fiery exchange with some of her own fans (affectionately called #BardiGang) over her absence from the 64th annual GRAMMY Awards Sunday (April 3).

As captured by our friends at TSR, Cardi was questioned by her fans about her delayed new music and absence from the GRAMMYs.
‘I’m not going to an awards [show] if I don’t got a new song to perform or my album ain’t out. Next year but short you gotta chill…,” she told one fan.
The response wasn’t enough for the anxious group, however, as some called her out on previous messages that were perceived to be hints about a GRAMMY appearance. When some of her supporters mentioned her children and the delay of her new album, the follow-up to 2018’s history-making ‘Invasion of Privacy,’ Cardi went off.
‘B*tch suck di*ck and do go some homework,’ she posted before later telling other #BardiGang members, ‘Don’t mention my kids wtf’ as well as ‘I hope your moms die’ and ‘drink acid with your ugly a**.’
All-in-all, the barrage of criticism proved too much for the GRAMMY winner and she decided to delete her Twitter handle all together.
“I’m deleting my Twitter but on God I hate this f*ckin dumba** fan base. You got the slow dumba**es dragging my kids all because you thought I was going to the GRAMMYs and I didn’t,” she said before ending with “I need to protect myself.”

I think she’s afraid that her sophomore album won’t live up to IOP’s expectations. Nevertheless she’s wrong for treating her fans this way. She knows how social media works. That’s how she became famous THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIA. Stans have unlimited access to their favs and they want music consistently these days. If I was in the public eye I would hand everything over to PR and bounce. I’ll check in every now and again for a launch or whatever but otherwise social media, especially twitter, is way too toxic. Also you go on those sites and you’re likely to be interacting with someone who hasn’t logged out of that site for YEARS in some cases. That’s someone who is entrenched in their bubble of thought and behaviour, there’s just no point in engaging.
