CeCe Winans Moves Up to 4th Place on List of GRAMMYs Most-Awarded Women Ever

Published: Sunday 3rd Apr 2022 by Rashad

As one of the groundbreaking artists credited with raising the profile of Gospel music to mainstream audiences, CeCe Winans is no stranger to seeing her name aligned with the phrase ‘record breaking.’

The best-selling female Gospel singer of all time, Winans – already the genre’s most decorated GRAMMY-winning singer – entered the show’s 64th annual ceremony Sunday (April 3) up for three more trophies thanks to her 2021 Billboard chart-topping album, ‘Believe For It.’

Sweeping every category she was nominated in, the flawless victory comes as yet another history-making achievement for CeCe.  See how inside:

Before the GRAMMYs’ live telecast Sunday, the ceremony’s pre-show saw Winans named victor in the Best Gospel Performance/Song, Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song, and Best Gospel Album categories.

For the latter listing, she becomes the first female artist to win the award twice over her career.

The three additional golden gramophones bring her career total to 15, making her the first Gospel singer to have earned as many GRAMMYs.  With all the genre’s performers considered, only songwriter-producer Kirk Franklin has more (16).

Among the show’s most-awarded women (all genres considered), she now enters a 3-way tie with Adele and Alicia Keys for fourth place.  Only Beyonce (28), Alison Krauss (27), and Aretha Franklin (18) have more GRAMMYs.

Lol she is the BEST SELLING FEMALE GOSPEL ARTIST OF ALLLLLLL TIME. She has HITS. And many with her brother Bebe Winans of the famous gospel duo Bebe and Cece Winans. You probably need to check your Google search engine. Cause something is wrong with it. She sells ALBUMS. Like the whole album. While others sells singles or go internet “sales” she sells music where it counts and matters.

She’s the only one besides Yolanda Adams and Deborah C** who can put me in the mindset of “She can sang” like Whitney Did off of the top of my head.

  4. Tell no lies April 4, 2022

What glory this brings to the Kingdom of God! While she could have been “basking in the spotlights” last night at the Grammys, she chose instead to perform at Liberty University’s 15th Annual Night Of Worship. Our granddaughter was also on the worship team which is how we found out that CeCe was there. It was a beautiful evening of praising and worshiping our wonderful savior Jesus!
