Harry Styles is off to a strong start with his latest single, ‘As It Was.’
For, the former One Direction member is already in the record books less than 48-hours after his most recent release.

On its first full day of release, ‘As It Was’ earned a massive 16.1 million streams on Spotify. As a result, the song now holds the distinction of becoming the biggest single-day streaming peak for a male artist.
Moreover, it becomes the third-biggest peak in the platform’s history. The only artists to best it are Adele with ‘Easy On Me,’ which earned 19.7 million streams in a single-day. Just behind her is Mariah Carey with her classic ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You,’ which earned 17.4 million streams in a single-day.
As previously mentioned, ‘As It Was’ flies to #1 on the Global Spotify chart; however, it also tops the U.S. Spotify chart as well with 5.9 million streams.
Additionally, it tops both the Global and U.S. Apple Music charts as well.
‘As It Was’ is the first single from Styles’ upcoming third studio album ‘Harry’s House,’ which is due out May 20. It follows 2019’s groundbreaking ‘Fine Line’ album.

And still the video generated more likes than views when it was released, more than 600k likes in less than 1hour (for 1.7k of views) and 1.5million likes after almost 24hours. Now it’s more than 21millions of views for 1.8million of likes 😶😶
So it seems that these likes come from before the video premiere, just hours ago when they uploaded it and blocked it with an alert for fans to know when it’s out soon – but it looks like only the likes were kept, not the views, someone asked me why on youtube, answer : because the video blocked with the alert couldn’t generate any view as there was nothing to listen to yet.
I don’t know what to think about it, it looks like cheating a little to me.
