Adele is recalibrating her Las Vegas residency and has reportedly set a return frame in place for the much-discussed live concert series.

After setting sail on an arguably flaw-free campaign for comeback album ’30,’ the songbird’s promotional efforts hit an iceberg when ‘Weekends With Adele’ at Caesars Palace was shockingly postponed the day before its launch in January.
In many ways, the fallout from the sudden halt caused a broader pause on the push for the otherwise well-received LP.
Adding to discourse was the suggestion that a rift with longtime collaborator and lead show creative Es Devlin (over the direction of the production) was at the center of the drama – as well as the COVID-19-related delays Adele tearfully cited to fans.
And while all involved have been somewhat mum about the alleged behind-the-scenes disagreements (which sources say were captured by documentary cameras), a notable change appears to lend credence to talk of a creative impasse.
Because, according to The Telegraph, Adele has replaced Devlin and has in turn “scrapped” the show that was originally in place.
The ‘Easy On Me’ hitmaker is said to have drafted in Kim Gavin – the BAFTA Award-winning creative force behind almost every tour staged by British icons Take That – to take the helm of the new incarnation of ‘Weekends With Adele.’
Revered production designers Stufish – whose credits include The Rolling Stones‘ forthcoming 60th-anniversary tour – have reportedly also been onboarded.
As for when fans catch expect to see Adele back on stage at Caesars? Sources say late July / August is being eyed; a frame that directly aligns with the current availability schedule at the world-renowned venue.
Word, though, is that the scheduling aspect is “provisional.”
Still, it’s encouraging that Ms. Adkins is holding to her word about the shows going ahead.
’30’ remains one of our favorite releases of the last year, so here’s hoping everything gets back on track.
