Taking to press, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) announced that his song ‘Stitches’ has now reached 8x Platinum status for selling 8,000,000 units in the United States. As a result, it has now become his highest-certified single to date.
Elsewhere, his song ‘Treat You Better’ was lifted to 6x Platinum status, ‘There’s Nothing Holding Me Back’ is now 5x Platinum, ‘Mercy’ is now certified 4x Platinum, and ‘Life of the Party’ is now 2x Platinum.
Moreover, ‘Ruin,’ ‘Show You,’ and ‘Imagination’ were all certified Gold for selling 500,000 units.
Mendes did earn one new album certification as his ‘Illuminate’ album was lifted to 2x Platinum status.
The news of his new certifications comes on the heels of him releasing his latest single, ‘When You’re Gone.’
