Justin Timberlake has become the latest major name to sell their music publishing catalog.

In an announcement made moments ago, it was confirmed that Hipgnosis Song Management has acquired the song catalog of JT.
Per the pact, “100% of all of Timberlake’s copyright, ownership and financial interests of the Writer and Publisher’s Share of Public Performance income, and the catalog of musical compositions written by Justin Timberlake”.
In an interesting addition to the sale itself, Hipgnosis now takes on the worldwide administration rights to the compositions, subject to the remaining Term of Universal Music Publishing Group’s administration rights, which expire in 2025.
Put simply, the commitment to this particular partnership is colossal.
Timberlake joins a rapidly growing list of artists to have sold their publishing rights to Hipgnosis Song Management; a list that includes Shakira and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers.
The news comes as the 40-year-old gears up for the release of his first studio album since 2018’s ‘Man of the Woods.’
