A year after Olivia Rodrigo released her debut album ‘Sour,’ the album continues to be a major presence on the charts.

Case in point, it just matched a record set by none other than Lady Gaga.

Full story below…

On this week’s updated Billboard 200 chart, ‘Sour’ remains in the top 10. It rose one spot this week from 9-8. In doing so, the album has now spent 48 weeks inside the top 10 of the chart.

As a result, the album now becomes the first debut album to spend 48 weeks inside the top 10 since Lady Gaga’s classic ‘The Fame’ album.

Both albums were runaway success for each respective artist. For Rodrigo, ‘Sour’ became the second-biggest album of 2021 in the United States and spawned four Billboard Hot 100 top 10 singles.

As for Gaga, ‘The Fame’ also spawned four top 10 singles with ‘Just Dance,’ ‘Paparazzi,’ ‘Poker Face,’ and ‘LoveGame.’

Elsewhere on the chart, Harry Styles secured this year’s biggest debut with his ‘Harry’s House’ album (as we reported here).
