Published: Friday 27th May 2022 by Ryan

Readers of That Grape Juice know how passionate we are about music – whether that be past or present.

However, unlike our other segments – Retro Rewind, TGJ Replay, and From The Vault – The Pop Stop is the most in-depth look at Pop songs that may have flown under the radar over the last week that you should know, rather they be from music’s biggest stars or those on the rise.

This week, we want to highlight cuts from Muna, Sky Ferreira, Faouzia, and Magnolia Park.

Join us inside…

Muna – Home By Now

Indie pop superstars Muna have been on a roll with their single choices for their upcoming self-titled album – due out June 24. Their latest release – ‘Home By Now’ – is no different. A shimmering dance pop tune that recalls Robyn’s ‘Dancing on My Own,’ ‘Home By Now’ is complete with brutal lyrics and an emo bridge. With their impressive run of single, including ‘Home By Now,’ Muna has set themselves up for an early album of the year contender.

Sky Ferreira – Don’t Forget

Serving as a single from up her upcoming sophomore album, pop darling Sky Ferreira has shared her song ‘Don’t Forget.’ On the tune, pounding drums and lush synthesizers meld together to create a post-industrial dreamland full of catchy hooks and vivid imagery. While her first album may have been released all the way back in 2013, with ‘Don’t Forget’ Ferreira only proves that she has only gotten better with time.

Faouzia – Anybody Else

Appearing on her fantastic debut album entitled ‘Citizens,’ rising pop superstar Faouzia has unleashed her song ‘Anybody Else.’ Known for incorporating global sounds into her songs, Faouzia opts out of this and instead delivers a gorgeous piano ballad for the ages. Truly a standout moment for the singer, ‘Anybody Else’ is among her strongest work to date.

Magnolia Park – Feel Something

With a tour coming to the UK next month and an upcoming EP called ‘Heart Eater’ due out June 10, Magnolia Park continue to build anticipation for both with the release of their latest single, ‘Feel Something.’ Featuring Derek Sanders from Mayday Parade, the group delivers a rousing pop-punk anthem complete with pulsating drums, burning guitar, and yearning lyrics. A true standout in their discography, with ‘Feel Something’ Magnolia Park have proved that they are some of the best in the pop-punk game right now.
