Thanks to the assembly of nearly 4 hours of star power from the likes of Mariah Carey, Brandy, Latto, Jack Harlow, Diddy, Mary J. Blige, Lil Kim, and more, “Culture’s Biggest Night” saw a big uptick in viewership from last year’s BET Awards.

Viewership = 3.2 Million
After falling to a historic low of approximately 2.4 million viewers in 2021 (primarily due to competition from televised U.S. Olympics programming), this year’s ceremony – which aired Sunday (June 26) – courted a whopping 3.2 million sets of eyes.
A feat undoubtedly anchored by the preceding announcement of performances from Jack Harlow, Latto, Giveon, Chloe Bailey, Muni Long, and more (click here to watch), the Taraji P. Henson-hosted show’s final numbers were also assisted by simulcast viewership figures collected from 10 Paramount Global networks including BET, BET Her, Comedy Central, Logo, MTV, MTV2, Pop, TV Land, and VH1.
