Taking to the stage, Giveon performed a medley of songs that included his singles ‘Heartbreak Anniversary,’ ‘For Tonight,’ and his song ‘Lie Again.’ However, his performance immediately sparked conversation online after some notes were missed due to issues with his mic.
This led him to take to Twitter to address the situation, where he asserts that he was joking that BET sabotaged his microphone.
In his tweet, he said:

His joke comes shortly after Lil Nas X claimed the organization snubbed him this year for not including him in their nominations despite having one of the biggest song’s of the year.
Giveon’s performance arrives after the singer released his first full-length album, ‘Give or Take,’ on June 24.
