As Ne-Yo fans get closer to the release of ‘Self-Explanatory,’ his first studio album since 2018’s ‘Good Man,’ the singer-songwriter is making good on his promise to keep the new music flowing.
Having already won rave reviews for his most recent singles ‘Stay Down,’ ‘What If,’ and ‘Don’t Love Me,’ the 42-year-old is undoubtedly hoping music lovers will love his newest drop, ‘You Got the Body.’
A bedroom-ready banger, the sexy tune sees Ne-Yo gives a special lady props for her…assets.
“Black mixed with some other shit (Oh) / Tatted, hella thick / Hair down to her waistline (Woo) / Shawty move her body to the base line (Yeah),” he croons.

I’m not sure what to expect from the album, so I’ll have to hear it before I buy it. I loved the old-school r&b from “U 2 Luv”, and then he leaned toward pop with “What If”, then hip-hop with “Stay Down”, contemporary r&b with “Don’t Love Me”, and then hip-hop again with this newest song. He doesn’t have a core sound to make the songs work cohesively. I think he did a lot better with his release of Good Man. Maybe this new album will be just as good.
