Seconds ago, CiCi set the net the ablaze with the teaser of the visual for ‘J.U.M.P.’
The clip – which sees the multi-Platinum singer twerking atop of a car – was accompanied with the caption:

As reported, the 36-year-old was spotted shooting the visual for the track with director Dave Meyers.
She also made headlines after revealing that she’s completed work on her new album, her first since 2019’s ‘Beauty Marks’ – which is home to Platinum smash ‘Level Up.’

I agree with those who said these seems dated and desperate. At least Level Up had a motivational message to go along with it, like taking whatever you’re doing to the next level, challenging yourself in other words. But this doesn’t seem to have that going for it. At this point Ciara doesn’t need to try to stay current she can just actually evolve and release the kind of music that she is inspired to make and I doubt that this is what inspires her at this point in her life.

People saying this sounds dated are the same people complaining that everything sounds the same. At this point, “dated” is starting to sound fresh. Summer Walker, H.E.R., Jhene Aiko, Sza, Chloe, Normani, Lizzo and Ella Mai don’t make uptempos like this. This sounds works for her sonically which doesn’t always translate commercially but what the heck? The energy is there.
