Ricky Martin is looking to renew and rebuild himself after the shocking claims made by his nephew were dismissed by a judge today (July 21).

As reported, the performer was accused by his 21-year-old relative of having a sexual relationship with him and harassing him in earnest. Claims Martin has long denied.

Now, in the wake of today’s developments and after a measured silence, the ‘Livin La Vida Loca’ singer is opening up about the ordeal that rocked his career.

His words await below…

Speaking on the situation, the 50-year-old said:

“I’m in front of the cameras today because I really need to talk in order to start my healing process. For two weeks I was not allowed to defend myself where I followed a procedure where the law obligated me not to talk until I was in front of a judge.

And these claims were proven to be false. But I’m going to tell you the truth, it has been so painful. It has been devastating for me, for my family, for my friends. I don’t wish this upon anybody. To the person that was claiming this nonsense, I wish him the best. And I wish that he finds the help so that he can start a new life filled with love and truth and joy and he doesn’t hurt anybody else. Now, my priority is to heal.

And how do I heal? With music.

I cannot wait to be back on stage. I cannot wait to be back in front of the cameras and entertain….which is what I do best.

Martin’s reps have long maintained that the accuser has mental health issues and conjured up the fictitious accusations. Today, said accuser walked back all the remarks and voluntarily requested that all legal action cease. A move that effectively ended the ordeal.
