Fans have been waiting with bated breath for the rapper’s long-awaited album debut, ‘Pretty B*tch Music.’
Instead, they’ve been placated with a seemingly endless stream of singles – several of which became hits such as ‘Tap In’ and ‘Best Friend.’
Still, with the whereabouts of the project a mystery, Saweetie has offered up an insightful update.

Speaking with Spotify at Rolling Loud Miami 2022, the femcee shared the following when asked why the festival was her only show of the summer:
“Absolutely [it’s my only festival this summer].
This is the first time ever in my career where I’ve actually been recording consistently. Nobody [made provisions] for me recording as an artist. No one ever cared about me developing my vocals, my stage presence. Everything that comes with artist development. Back in the day, you used to develop people for one or two years and then boom ‘here’s so and so’ and ‘here’s this person.’ These days, you go viral, you on that road baby. That song is hot, then you’re booked and busy. So, I’m really grateful for the blessings God has given me. However, my schedule has always been so stacked that I never had to for artistry. So, I told my team I’m not performing this summer. I need to focus on my music and that’s what I’ve been doing.”
Kudos to Saweetie for keeping it 100. Few acts would be as candid, given the general discourse that often surrounds her.
