Megan Thee Stallion has been earning rave reviews for her freshly released sophomore album Traumazine.’
But that hasn’t halted her hustle.
The femcee stopped by Apple Music and chopped it up with Ebro Darden and Nadeska Alexis for a special – aptly named ‘The Traumazine Interview.’
Serving as the definitive sit-down chat in support of the project, the candid conversation saw Meg delve into the concept of the LP, feeling like her vulnerability is often dismissed, missing her mom, her superpower, and more.
Watch after the jump…
Speaking on ‘Traumazine’ conceptually, the Hot Girl Coach said:
“I feel like this is finally an opportunity for me to put (my feelings) in music. So, that’s what I did. Some of the songs on ‘Traumazine’ are definitely me venting. Like, I feel like the album is more for me (and what I needed) than for everybody else.”
Peep the full interview:
It’s a great interview, Megan can be proud of herself. She collaborated with a lot of female rapper like Nicki, Cardi, Latto, Rico Nasty and many great male rappers. She released her first album without too much wait, dropped another one for the hotties not long after while she was studying and now she’s a college graduate 💪new album out, she keeps going on and it gets better.
For those who likes to compare her with Nicki saying she’s n°2, she didn’t start her career at the same time! She’s just at the beginning of her career, Nicki started in 2004, Megan in 2016 so there’s no need to compare.
2 albums + 3 mixtapes + 3 extended play, 38 singles and all of that in 6 years while graduating, a solid album takes almost 3 years in the making. She’s doing great for now.
40 platinum, 8 gold and 2 silver certification in 6 years.
Her first major label mixtape Fever peaked at number 10 on the US Billboard 200. “Hot Girl Summer” featuring Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla Sign peaked at number 11 on the Hot 100.
Third extended play Suga peaked at number 7 on the Billboard 200, becoming her highest peak on the chart as of August 2020. A remix of the single “Savage” featuring Beyoncé topped the Billboard Hot 100 becoming her first No. 1 song in her career.
WAP shortly became her second No. 1 and first No. 1 in countries such as Australia, Canada, Ireland, United Kingdom and New Zealand.
As I said, all of that in 6 years while graduating, she’s doing really fine 👍
