Taking to the social media platform Wednesday morning (August 24), the 51-year-old quizzed readers on their thoughts about what differentiates a hit from a classic.
And while the general question led to thousands of responses as commenters weighed in and justified their answers, some – namely Nicki Minaj fans (affectionately called #Barbz) – took the inquisition as a slick diss to the ‘Super Freaky Girl’ rapper who is currently enjoying her first solo run atop the Hot 100.

No most female rappers don’t have number 1s that’s why it’s such a big deal when they get 1. The 90s and early 2000s had plenty female rappers but nowadays female rap is just as mainstream as male rap. Its not the same.

Missy Elliot is one of a kind. There is no female in the game that can touch Missys talent. And that’s not throwing shade at anyone. Missy is ridiculously talented. Her performance during the awards show was epic. She is an icon. Missy has no reason to be jealous of anyone.
