I wish That Grape Juice, Billboard, and all the other blogs and chart people would stop trying to draw record comparisons between pre-streaming and post-streaming eras. THEY ARE NOT COMPARABLE.

Pre-streaming, artists had to actually get radio airplay or have people actually purchase their music to chart. Nowadays, all folks have to do is press a button, FOR FREE, to listen to their favorite artists and songs–and that counts for the charts.

See? Not the same. Therefore, despite what is being claimed, Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men still hold the real record. Everybody else is smoke, mirrors, pixie dust, discount coupons, and lies galore.

It’s actually more accurate. Radio is just basically payola. Charting in the streaming era is more accurate reflection of popularity. Either for free or not, it shows people actually listen to your songs voluntarily unlike radio that just constantly plays whatever they want.

It’s not more accurate because sales are down more than 50 percent compared to the past. How is this more accurate? Yall sound retarded asFUCK.

in a perfect world it’s more accurate, but streaming is MORE manipulatable than radio. there are bots, fans having streaming parties, etc to manipulate the charts. it’s far from MORE accurate than radio

1 week more and he will break Mariah Carey’s record

4 weeks more he would break lip nas x record.

Why are u guys upset? Records are meant to be broken, that’s why they are called RECORDS

      They’re upset because 1) he’s white, and 2) it ain’t Normani lmaoooooooooo 🤣

I don’t even understand how Lil Nas X was #1 for 19 weeks, that would have NEVER happened with previous charts’ rules. That song is HORRIBLE.

So hopefully Harry tops or breaks that record, even tho I don’t get the hype about that song.
I’ll give him that tho, he has his own thing going on, he doesn’t go for the average pop sound.

    I’ll keep in mind MC & B2M, that’s a classic with a beautiful message.
