Thanks to the assembly of megawatt emcee star power from the likes of Lil Kim, Remy Ma, Fivio Foreign, GloRilla, Trina, and more (as we reported here), Rap’s biggest night – the 2022 BET Hip-Hop AWards – not only saw an uptick in viewership from last year’s ceremony but also topped TV ratings charts Tuesday (October 4).
Details inside.
Viewership: 2.52 Million
Hosted by Fat Joe, the Hip-Hop Awards – which counted Kendrick Lamar, Glorilla, and Yung Miami among its big winners – hopped to #1 on the TV ratings chart Tuesday after being simulcast on BET Her, MTV2 and VH1.
Its showings on the respective networks (alongside other Hip-Hop Awards-related content like ‘Rap City,’ ‘Pass the Mic,’ award show rerun, etc.) racked up a collective 2.52 million views – making it the night’s highest-rated cable program.

The ratings win mirrors that of the network’s flagship award show, the BET Awards, which aired in June and also saw a surge in viewership thanks to a simulcast roll out.

Looks like lots of Cardi B fans on this blog considering no comments here lmaooo
Under a million viewers is a ratings win? How?
it’s a win because it was the top-rated show of the night. just like if a music artist only sells 10,000 copies of a cd, a #1 is a #1. no way around it.
