Taking to press, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has announced that his album ‘Detroit 2’ has now been certified Gold for the sales equivalent of 500,000 total units in the United States.
As a result of this updated certification, Big Sean now has the distinct honor of having all five of his solo studio albums certified Gold or higher.
As for his highest-certified album, that honor belongs to ‘Dark Sky Paradise,’ which has a 2x Platinum certification of 2,000,000 in sales.
‘Detroit 2’ served as the sequel to his 2012 mixtape ‘Detroit.’ It produced two Billboard Hot 100 hits with ‘Wolves’ and ‘Deep Reverence.’
