What started as a battle royale between the fan bases of Queen of Pop Madonna and Rap diva Cardi B Sunday morning (October 23) has ended with a love fest between the ladies.
As reported here, Madonna – who is celebrating the 30th anniversary of her groundbreaking and controversial fifth studio album ‘Erotica’ – took to Instagram to discuss the LP’s impact, suggesting the backlash she endured at the time of its release opened doors for today’s crop of female stars to be more brazen about their sexuality.
Naming Kim Kardashian, Miley Cyrus, and Cardi B as some of the beneficiaries of her plight, the Pop Queen ended her message by saying, “you’re welcome, bitches,” and including a clown emoji. The inference didn’t sit well with Cardi, who launched a fiery tirade on Twitter Sunday morning in response.
Calling the icon a ‘disappointment’ and the emoji an ‘insult,’ the Rap diva took Madonna’s name to trending status on Twitter for hours before doubling back to inform her fans – affectionately called #BardiGang – that the two had made up.
With the fiasco behind them, some fans are calling for a musical collaboration – a timely request as both are said to be working on their next albums.
Having previously worked together on Quavo‘s song ‘Champagne Rose,’ the idea isn’t far-fetched.

Honestly Cardi I feel misread her IG story. Madonna was simply pointing out how women like Cardi, Kim, and Miley etc despite haven to been on the receiving end of hate and criticizing still fall short compared to what Madonna experienced in the 80s and especially the 90s. She among others that truly went thru hell just for the likes of them to do what they do when it taboo.

Good! Guess this means Madonna was not being intentionally insulting while trying to give herself a well earned pat on the back. For better or worse, Madonna did open up doors for these female artists to be the way they are now.
