She’s finally back! Rihanna trumpets her grand return to music with the release of ‘Lift Me Up’ – the lead single from the soundtrack for ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.’
Written by Rih alongside the film’s director Ryan Coogler, Nigerian superstar Tems, and Ludwig Göransson (who also serves as the song’s producer), the arrival of ‘Lift’ comes after ample teasing with news first breaking earlier this month that the GRAMMY-winning diva would be contributing multiple tunes to the ‘Panther’ soundtrack.

The guitar plucks give it a weird Spanish style, and the vocal arrangement doesn’t seem to ever find its rhythm. Overall, the song isn’t anything close to the level of amazement I was expecting. I think they should pretend it was never released and record something better.
