Tory Lanez Lands His 7th Billboard 200 Top 10 With the Week’s Top-Selling New Rap Album ‘Sorry 4 What’

Controversy be damned, Tory Lanez‘ dedicated fans come through again for the embattled rapper.

Unlike his music industry buddy DaBaby, who is experiencing some of the worst commercial activity of his career courtesy of his latest album, ‘Baby on Baby 2,’ Lanez – currently under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department for his reported role in shooting Megan Thee Stallion and assaulting R&B singer August Alsina – has driven his latest project into the top 10 of the refreshed Billboard 200 despite minimal promotion during its rollout week.

Tory Lanez’ ‘Sorry 4 What’

First-Week Sales (SPS): 25,500 units

First-Week Sales (Pure): 1000 units

Billboard 200 Debut: #10

As reported here, ‘Sorry 4 What’ – Tory’s September 30-released seventh studio album – was predicted to shift his second-lowest first-week sales for a studio album to date but still enough to grant a top 10 placement on the Billboard 200 and be crowned the week’s top-selling new Hip-Hop effort.

Via a report from Billboard issued October 9, that prediction came through as Lanez bested the ‘Sorry’ predicted sales by 2,000 units.

What’s more, it marks the seventh time the 30-year-old has placed a project in the Billboard 200’s top 10 and follows 2016’s ‘I Told You’ (#4 peak), 2018’s ‘Memories Don’t Die’ (#3 peak), ‘Love Me Now’ (#4 peak), ‘Chixtape 5’ (#2 peak), ‘Daystar’ (#10 peak), and 2020’s ‘The New Toronto’ EP (#2 peak).
