We’re sure ‘Smile‘ singer Katy Perry was doing the exact opposite of that once she got a load of the comments that flooded her Instagram Monday night (November 7).
Although gearing up for the next leg of her critically acclaimed ‘Play‘ concert residency in Las Vegas, the GRAMMY nominee took time to hop to Los Angeles to perform her civic duty and vote.
And while some praised the Pop diva for taking to Instagram to encourage her dedicated fans, affectionately called #KatyCats, to do the same, others scoffed at the nominee she endorsed in the process.

As seen above, Perry took to Twitter Monday to show proof that she had cast her vote in the LA mayoral race for billionaire real estate developer Rick Caruso – a former Republican-turned-“moderate” Democrat who has spent over $100 million on his campaign for political leadership, promising to end street homelessness, improve public safety, increase access to affordable housing, and pump more money into the entertainment industry along the way.
Following big names like Kim Kardashian, Chris Pratt, and others, Katy came as the latest celeb to openly endorse Caruso’s bid for mayor – a problem for many of her fans given the politician’s historical stance of being anti-women’s rights. And given that his switch to the Democratic party only came near the time of the announcement of his intent to run for office, many believe he still holds tightly to his conservative beliefs.
The unfavorable response to the ‘Firework‘ singer’s post Monday led her to turn off the comments, but it didn’t stop the fireworks over at Twitter.

You cannot hate someone who thinks differently to you. Especially while screaming “peace and unity.” You’re talking about “anti-women,” well, Katy’s a woman and you’re bullying her. So stop the hypocrisy.
The rich and famous have to appeal to the public so they will pretend to be down to earth. They have privileges that the majority of us do not have and would prefer to keep it that way. She voted for the candidate that would keep her status and/or lifestyle afloat or simply her interests. Is she brilliant for posting her vote? Of course not; however she clearly just stated, without exact words, that her interests do not lie in reproductive rights or with the everyday woman. On the flip side she is entitled to do as she pleases, but there is karma or consequences or repercussions to every action; she may have lost a lot of fans or support behind her decision.
At least she is voting for the right team which is more then I can say for most dumb, unintelligent North Americans. Watch you fools vote republicans and pave the way for that idiot Trump to comeback. Just watch! You are all destroying the world!
