The Pop Stop: Rebecca Black, Brockhampton, & More Deliver This Week’s Hidden Gems

Published: Friday 18th Nov 2022 by Ryan

Readers of That Grape Juice know how passionate we are about music – whether that be past or present.

However, unlike our other segments – Retro Rewind, TGJ Replay, and From The Vault – The Pop Stop is the most in-depth look at Pop songs that may have flown under the radar over the last week that you should know, rather they be from music’s biggest stars or those on the rise.

This week, we want to highlight cuts from Rebecca Black, Brockhampton, Foushee, and Josh Kinney.

Join us inside…

Rebecca Black – Crumbs

11 years after her song ‘Friday’ went viral, Rebecca Black has taken that attention and turned into one of the most interesting music careers in recent years. Now, gearing up to release her debut album ‘Let It Burn,’ she has shared what to expect from the project with the hypnotic song ‘Crumbs.’ An exhilarating dance beat guides the song as Black croons in sultry whispers. If there is one thing that ‘Crumbs’ proves, it is that Black is more than a social media sensation, but a true budding pop star.

Brockhampton – The Ending

Rap collective Brockhampton have officially released their final album together. Called ‘The Family,’ the project features the single ‘The Ending.’ Produced by Boylife the song finds the group reflect on how friendships became a business. Set to the tune of a Willie Hutch sample, the song continues their legendary streak of no skip tunes.

 Foushee – Spend The Money

Singer Foushee’s new album ‘SoftCORE’ is out today and on the collections of tunes is a song called ‘Spend The Money.’ Featuring Lil Uzi Vert, the song is an intoxicating, full throttle pop song complete with buzzing synths and a pulsating backbeat. A highlight from one of the year’s most groundbreaking projects, ‘Spend The Money’ is a must-hear tune.

Josh Kinney – Never Wanna Leave

Rising country-pop singer Josh Kinney is back with his latest single, ‘Never Wanna Leave.’ Relying heavily on country instrumentals, he pairs them with a gorgeous pop melody to create a tune accessible to all. Easily one of the best mainstream country songs released this year, ‘Never Wanna Leave’ is a promising showing from one of country music’s future stars.
