‘Tomorrow 2’: Glorilla Earns First Gold Plaque With Year’s Fastest-Certified Female Rap Hit [RIAA]

Published: Wednesday 9th Nov 2022 by Rashad

Ahead of the November 11 release of her debut EP, ‘Anyways, Life’s Great,’ Memphis-made rapper Glorilla has yet another reason to proclaim such thanks to news from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Taking to press Monday (November 7), the RIAA revealed ‘Tomorrow 2’ had crossed its threshold for Gold certification – meaning it’s sold the equivalence of 500,000 units in the United States.

The first Gold record of her career, the ‘Tomorrow 2’ feat not only marked a personal milestone but also a historic achievement.

Crowned a mere 45 days after its official release, the song becomes the quickest-certified female Rap hit of the year – besting the record’s previous owner, Nicki Minaj‘s ‘Super Freaky Girl,’ by 30 days.  The latter remains the year’s quickest Platinum-certified female Rap of the year as of time reported, however.

Among all rappers, Future holds the record for fastest-certified songs of the year thanks to his ‘I Never Liked You’ hits, ‘Wait For U’ and ‘Puffin on Zootiez’ – both of which reached the GOLD threshold just 38 days after their April 29 release.

Incidentally, Cardi B – the supporting act on ‘Tomorrow 2’ – holds the overall record for the fastest-certified song in history thanks to her 2020 blockbuster hit, ‘WAP‘ (which was certified in just 7 days after its debut).

‘Tomorrow 2’ is just one of many Glorilla fan favorites set to line her debut EP, ‘Anyways.’ Click here to see its official tracklist.
